Ratnagiri is a District which is
situated in the western coast of India, and is a paradise of world
which is not even overcomed by new culture. Ratnagiri is surrounded
by Sahyandri hills from one side and sea from other sides. It is one
of the most important coasts of Kokan region. Ratnagiri is divided
into 3 zones like:
Coastal Zone
This zone serves number of beautiful
beaches, sea forts, caves, temples, hot water springs, harbors,
creeks, scenic beauty places and also birthplace of many great
personalities. The tourist activities included under this zone are
sea water and inland ways, boating, water scooter, fishing, coastal
resorts, marinas, canoeing, sailing and marine parks.
Hill Area Zone
The huge area under this zone is
covered by forest although it is declining at fast rate. This area
contains hill forts, forests, ghat roads, wild life and many more
such things. The femous tourist activities in this area are hiking,
trekking, goliday resorts, forest camps, bird sanctuaries, and wild
life safari.
Middle Zone
Middle zone lies in between Coastal and
Hill area with a medium altitude. It is easily accessible area due to
its close proximity to Bombay-Goa Highway and Kokan Railway Station.
This area contains less tourist places as compared to that of other 2
areas. It mostly serves religious places and hot water springs.
Ratnagiri provides something special
